AT-KABUL: Security situation has improved in Paktika province, said a security official in the province. He added that enhanced coordination among security forces has led to improvement of security.
Azizullah Karwan, the special force commander for Paktika, told Azadi Radio that there is no major security threat in the province and security situation has improved as compared to other provinces.
“You will face no security threat, if you want to travel to Urgon, Shkina and other remote districts of the province. Thus, I can say security situation has considerably improved in Paktika,” he added.
According to Karwan, armed militants are no more capable of fighting face to face with Afghan security forces. “Security forces have rooted out all militant groups across the province,” he said.
He added that the main reason behind improvement of security situation in the province was enhanced coordination among security forces.
These remarks came at a time that security forces during an operation in Urgon district of Paktika province recovered seven weapons caches the other day.
