Senior ISIS commander killed in southern Afghanistan

Kabul: The Khorasan branch of ISIS confirmed the death of Ejaz Amin Ahangar known as Abu Osman Al-Kashmiri, a senior member of this group in southern Afghanistan.

This group said in a statement that al-Kashmiri was killed on February 14 in a conflict between the Taliban and ISIS in a southern province of Afghanistan.

Abu Osman al-Kashmiri was previously a member of the “Mujahideen Movement” in Pakistan’s Kashmir. He then joined Al-Qaeda and became a member of ISIS in 2015.

Al-Kashmiri is believed to have been the first Amir of the “Indian province” of ISIS.

In the past months, the Afghan security forces have reported numerous clashes with Daesh in different provinces of Afghanistan.
