AT Monitoring Desk-KABUL: At least 10 senior security officials of the Ministry of Interior were under investigation over deadly Thursday attack in the capital Kabul in which dozens of newly trained police cadets were killed and wounded.
Sources in the Ministry of Interior said that these officials are under investigation apparently over negligence in carrying out their duties. Negligence is the sole reason behind the incident that took the lives of several polices officers and wounded dozen others, the source added.
Two suicide bombers targeted police convoy on Thursday killing at least 38 newly trained policemen and wounded over 79 others in Paghman district of Kabul province.
District Chief Mohammad Musa Rahmati said that the convoy of recently trained cadets was on the way from Wardak to Kabul when the suicide bombers targeted it in Abdul Alikhil area of Paghman district.
Six civilian including a woman, one child and two aged people were also among the killed people, he said, adding that first a Corolla model vehicle rammed into the buses and shortly after the another suicide bomber donated his explosives-packed vest near the convoy.
He added that the convoy was comprised of nearly eight buses, in which around 500 newly trained policemen were on board to be transferred to Kabul.
