Seven security checkpoints collapse in Takhar

AT-KABUL: In the face of heavy fighting, the Taliban insurgents overrun seven security checkpoints in Takhar province, local officials said Monday.

Fighting is still underway in Khaja Ghar district of the province, in which both sides received casualties.

The provincial governor spokesman, Khalil Aseer confirmed killing of one local police. In addition to that three others wounded in the ongoing clashes. However, the Taliban insurgents claimed capturing 17 checkpoints.

Recently, the Taliban insurgents intensified attacking security forces and their checkpoints. But the brave Afghan security forces always repelled their attack with killing a large numbers of fighters loyal to the different terrorist groups.
