Taliban commanders arrested in Samangan

AT-KABUL: Three commanders for the Taliban insurgents were arrested in joint military operation conducted by the national security forces in Samangan province, security officials said Saturday.

Ministry of Interior in statement said that the national police, national army and the National Directorate of Security lunched joint clearing operation in the Dara-e-Soof district of Samangan province and arrested three influential commoner of Taliban.

The statement named these three commanders as Khairullah, Abdul Haq and Bakhtiyar and they were involved in many terrorist activities in this district and other areas of Samangan province. After eliminating this group the security situation in this district is expected to improve.
