Taliban not invited to Russia’s Afghanistan summit


Kabul: According to the TASS news agency, the meeting of the Moscow Format to discuss Afghanistan will take place in Moscow in mid-November.

Zamir Kabulov, Russia’s special representative for Afghanistan affairs, said that this meeting will be held only between Afghanistan’s neighbors and regional countries.

According to “Tass” news agency, this meeting is a continuation of the previous meetings of the Moscow framework, with the difference that representatives of the Islamic Emirate participated in the previous meetings.

Meanwhile, Zabihullah Mujahid, the spokesman of the Islamic Emirate, told the media that although the latest information about the meeting was not shared with them, they welcome its holding.

Mr. Mujahid said “We welcome the meeting that cooperates in Afghanistan’s issues and we welcome the issues to provide ease in Afghanistan’s population and commerce.”

According to Mr. Kabulov, Russia, China, India, Iran, Pakistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan are among the participants of this meeting.

In previous meetings in Moscow, security, humanitarian, economic and social issues of Afghanistan have been discussed.

The participants of the previous meetings in October 2021 asked the Taliban to form an inclusive government, open girls’ schools and not allow Afghanistan’s soil to be used against other countries.
