Taliban release kidnapped students in Farah

AT-KABUL: A teacher and six school students kidnapped by the Taliban militants last week were set free in western Farah province, said an official source on Sunday.

Pashtoonkot district chief said that the militants kidnapped the seven people including one teacher and six school students last week, when Afghan forces detained their comrade.

Abdul Rahim Haidari said that the released men were dwellers of Duzdabad and Kazimabad villages of the district.

He hailed the role played by tribal elders in release of the captives.

It is worth mentioning that a group of unknown gunmen kidnapped four staffers of a construction firm in western Herat province last week.
