KABUL: rahmatullah Nabil Former Director of the National Directorate of Security (NDS) said that the Taliban were trying to take control of the highways connecting border provinces with Kabul and pressure capital economically.
Nabil made the remarks on his Facebook page on Sunday, in which he also accused the government of not adopting a proper strategy. He said that the government was busy in “useless political bargains”.
Nabil warned that Afghanistan would face drastic challenges if the government and political leaders didn’t compromised.
His remarks come amid a rapid territorial gain by the Taliban across the country.
The militants step up pressure on the government with staging attacks on the military outposts amid the withdrawal of international forces that will expectedly followed with dangerous consequences.
