AT News

KABUL – The Taliban issued a statement on Saturday, urging nations to refrain from interfering in Afghanistan’s internal affairs. This comes in response to comments made by Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov regarding the establishment of a government in Afghanistan that incorporates all parties.

Zabihullah Mujahid, the spokesman for the interim government in Afghanistan, conveyed the message via Afghan state television. Mujahid emphasized to Lavrov that the interim government is a comprehensive administration inclusive of all factions within the country. He underscored the importance of respecting Afghanistan’s sovereignty and cautioned against external interference.

During a news conference, Lavrov stated that, for the formal recognition of the Taliban administration, a government with political inclusivity must be established in Afghanistan. The Russian foreign minister’s remarks indicate a diplomatic push for a broad-based government that represents the diverse political landscape of the nation.

This exchange highlights the complex diplomatic dynamics surrounding Afghanistan and the efforts to shape the nature of its governance in the eyes of the international community.
