Tens of militants reported killed in raids

KabuL: More than 79 militants have been killed and over 24 of them woundedin raids across the country, military authorities said on Sunday.

Ministry of Defense released a statement which said that ANDSF and Afghan Air Force conducted raids in Nangarhar, Khost, Logar, Paktia, Paktika, Uruzgan, Kandahar, Zabul, Farah, Badghis, Faryab and Helmand provinces, which resulted in killing of 79 insurgents and wounding 24 others.

Statement said that during operations, 16 militants were killed, seven others wounded and 57 rounds of mines destroyed in Maiwand district of Kandahar, 15 insurgents including two local commanders were killed in Neharsiraj, Sangin, and Grashk district of Helmand, nine militants were killed, three others wounded in Khak-e-Safid district of Farah and nine insurgents were killed and four others arrested Nawi and Khogiani district of Ghazni province.

Similarly, eight militants were killed and nine wounded in Mizan and central district of Zabul, seven insurgents were killed in Zurmat and Laz Ahmadkhil district of Paktia, six ISIS fighter including two local commanders were killed in Achin and Haskameena district of Nangarhar, five militants were killed and two others wounded in district of Uruzgan and four insurgents were killed two others wounded in Gomal district of Paktia province, said the statement.

It is worth to mention that Security Forces used air strikes and artilleries to shell and bomb enemy’s sanctuaries, in which as result four cars, 12 motor bikes and four cache along with some weapons and ammunitions destroyed.
