KABUL: A third wave of the Corona virus is feared to infect people in Herat province in the west, where the first case of the deadly disease was found in February 2020.
Health officials in the western province call on people to receive the COVID vaccines.
Abdul Hakim Tamanna, head of provincial health department, warned the outbreak of the third wave of Corona virus, saying that the disease could be controlled if people receive vaccines.
Tamanna assured that they have vaccines enough for the people. He said that health workers, teachers, security and defense forces, persons over 50 years old and the vulnerable ones would be vaccinated first.
Tamanna said that people do not care of their health and do not care to be vaccinated as well. He said if people receive vaccines, the rate of casualties would reduce very much.
The third wave of COVID-19 also known as British virus has infected many people in the neighboring Iran and Pakistan. This virus is called to be more dangerous while people in Afghanistan are not interested in vaccination.
The ministry of public health said last week that seven case of the British Corona virus in the country.
The vaccination campaign of the Corona virus began formally in Afghanistan and around 60,000 people have so far received vaccines, according to ministry of public health that shows people’s reluctance to the immunity.
One million doses of vaccines are available in the country, with India donating 500,000 doses.
