Three Pakistani militants killed in Kunar

At Monitoring Desk-KABUL: At least three Pakistani militants belonging to Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) have been killed in a drone strike in eastern Kunar province, said officials on Friday.

The Kunar police chief, Brig. Gen. Abdul Habib Syedkheli, told Pajhwok Afghan News that a US drone strike killed three Pakistani militants in Nakora area of Chapa Dara district of Kunar on Thursday night.

He said there were no civilian casualties in the airstrike.

Meanwhile, the police detained a person who had allegedly links with the Taliban militants in Pashad area of Sarkani district. The detained person was also accused of attacking a security checkpoint, Syedkheli added.

Kunar is among the volatile provinces in eastern Afghanistan, where the Taliban militants are actively operating. The Taliban usually plant landmines and attack the security forces checkpoints. There has been a huge increased in landmine casualties across the country.
