Turkey seeks expanding role in Afghanistan

AT News Report-KABUL: Minister of Foreign Affairs Salahuddin Rabbani on Sunday met Turkish Ambassador to Kabul, Oguzhan Ertugrul and discussed political, security and economic matters, Istanbul Process, bilateral relations, and Organization of Islamic Cooperation meeting.

During the meeting, the Turkish Ambassador counted Afghanistan as a good friend country to Turkey and announced the Turkish Prime Minister visit to Afghanistan in the near future.

He mentioned the completion of the sixth training program for the young Afghan police officers in Turkey and assured the commitment of Turkey to continue the Afghan police officers training program, a statement from foreign ministry said.

From his part, Rabbani appreciated the Turkish cooperation in various areas; not least, the security forces officers training and counted the Turkish assistance as significant.

The Turkish Ambassador also stated that the Turkish Consulate would soon be launched in Herat province.
