AT Monitoring Desk-KABUL: Two children were killed and three others wounded in a roadside bombing in Tughrak area of Shahwali Kot district of southern Kandahar province, officials said Saturday.
Provincial spokesman, Samim Khpalwak told Pajhwok Afghan News that the bomb was planted by the Taliban and blew up when the children were passing the area.
The ages of the children targeted by the bomb were between eight to 10 years, Khpalwak added.
However, no group including Taliban insurgents have commented on the incident so far.

In the past, a roadside bomb blast left five people dead again in the same province. The incident was took place in the area between Marouf and Arghistan districts of the Kandahar province, when a civilian vehicle struck a roadside bomb. The bomb blast killed five civilians and wounded three others, including a woman and a child, he added.
In March, two children have lost lives in a roadside bomb blast in the capital of Zabul province. Officials in that time said that the bomb went off on a vehicle of a private school.
Moreover, in May, a roadside bomb has killed at least four small children from the same family again in Zabul province.
Afghanistan is inundated with mines and other explosives left over from decades of war.
