US commends Afghan security forces’ efficiency

AT Monitoring Desk-KABUL: The United States of American has praised the Afghan National Security Forces in successfully and quickly responding to the terrorist suicide attack in Kabul. The US State Department spokesperson, John Kirby briefing the newsmen on his daily news conference said that looking at the response of the Afghan national security forces, the speed with which they got on scene and the efficiency with which they dealt with the attackers, it showed that the training and assistance that US providing to the Afghan forces was effective and it is on the right truck.

As spring offensive of the Taliban is ongoing in Afghanistan, it would not be wrong to say that Taliban would carry more attacks not only in Kabul but at the provinces as well, Kirby said in a responded to a question.

He added that such attacks would not make Taliban successful and for sure it would not put negative impact on the Afghan people as well as government.

In response to a query, Kirby said that Afghan National Security Forces (ANSF) have come an extraordinarily long way in the last several years in terms their competence and ability.

“We have an advice and assist mission in Afghanistan,” he said, adding that ANSF were given quick respond to the violence that continues for year by the Taliban.

He further said that Afghanistan is a sovereign country and the Afghan forces acting on the order of the government. He also appreciated the Afghan forces and said that they have done well in fight against militancy, not just in Kabul, but across the country.

He hoped to see Washington and Kabul, apart from defense and security relations, may have more normal relations, just like the US have with other countries in the world.
