US helping possible candidates who support BSA

AT-KABUL: A number of legislators at the Wolesi Jirga of the parliament have said that the US is helping and supporting those possible candidates for the parliamentarian election to shore up the bilateral security agreement (BSA), between Kabul and Washington, which has been signed in the beginning days of the National Unity Government.

They also said those candidates that agree the BSA, the US embassy in Kabul will support them financially during their campaign days and also assist them to win.

The legislators called this act of US as clear violation of Afghanistan’s sovereignty and constitution.

A female lawmaker, Simin Barakzai, and a male legislator, Nadir Khan Katawazi said “US emphasize on BSA shows that it has been looking for its long-term interest instead of the national interest of Afghanistan”.

Both the lawmakers believed that the US is striving to bring new lawmakers at the parliament just to work for their interest.

Another lawmaker, Abdul Sattar Khawasi said the US embassy has not confirmed the news but this question has surfaced at time when the government struggling to make win its favorite candidates in the upcoming parliamentary elections.
