Uzbekistan delegation aims to enhance economic ties during its visit to Kabul


Kabul: The Afghanistan Acting Prime Minister’s office announced that on Tuesday, March 13th, Bakhtiyar Sahidov, Uzbekistan’s Foreign Minister and the country’s special representative for Afghanistan affairs, held talks with Mullah Mohammad Hassan Akhund.

According to the statement, Sahidov conveyed Uzbekistan’s eagerness to share its expertise in implementing economic and agricultural initiatives with Afghanistan.

During the meeting with the Acting Prime Minister, the Foreign Minister of Uzbekistan expressed Uzbekistan’s intention to invest in various sectors in Afghanistan. These investments include the establishment of a cement factory, coal extraction projects, and the production of 200 megawatts of electricity from coal within Afghanistan.

Additionally, it mentioned that a technical delegation from Uzbekistan would soon visit Afghanistan to evaluate the Afghan-Trans railway project. In response, Mullah Hasan Akhund expressed Kabul’s readiness to collaborate on aligning Uzbekistan’s projects within Afghanistan.

He instructed relevant departments and officials to ensure seamless coordination and full cooperation with Uzbekistan for the successful implementation of these initiatives.
