AT Monitoring Desk-KABUL: The Chairman of Qaumi Watan Party (QWP), Aftab Ahmad Khan Sherpao, said that Kabul and Islamabad should establish friendly relations in order to eliminate terrorism from the region.
Talking to a public gathering on Sunday, Sherpao urged the Pakistani government to establish cordial diplomatic ties with Afghanistan. He said that Pashtuns straddling on both sides of Durand Line have been the main victims of terrorism and chaos over the past three decades.
Sherpao said that now it was time to focus on the future of Pashtuns living on both sides of the line. “Pakistan has ignored Pashtun leadership while devising its foreign policy, which created a sense of deprivation among Pasthuns,” he added. He vowed to continue his fight for brining lasting peace and prosperity to this war-wracked region and protect Pashtuns’ rights.
The Pasthun nationalist leader called on Islamabad to make Zarb-e-Azb operation against insurgents a success.
Sherpao expressed concerns over the proposed change in the original map of Gwadar-Kashkgar economic corridor and said that his party would resist against any change. He said that implementation of the original map would bring development to the marginalized areas of tribal belt.
According to reports, the new proposed route bypasses a major portion of Baluchistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, particularly tribal belt.
