AT-KABUL: Wolesi Jirga (WJ) or Lower House of the parliament on Monday approved three agreements with the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) unanimously.
The OIC convention on counterterrorism includes a preface and 49 articles. The inter-governments land-locked countries agreement includes one preface and 17 articles. The OIC food security scheme was the third agreement approved by the Wolesi Jirga.
Chief of the International Relations Committee (IRC) of the WJ, Muhammad Dawood Kalakani, said that the OIC member countries would cooperate with those countries that are facing food insecurity and poverty.
The members will also cooperate with each other in agriculture and farming sectors, according to the agreement, he said. The OIC members will support each other in counterterrorism efforts, Kalakani said, adding that based on the agreement they would also collaborate with each other in preventing criminal activities, human trafficking and money laundering.
