Abdul Zuhoor Qayomi-KABUL: Wolesi Jirga expressed its deep concerns over mounting insecurity across the country.
Lawmakers on Wednesday termed lack of coordination as one of the main reasons behind collapse of areas to the Taliban militants.

Naqibullah Fayeq, another MP from the province, accused a number of officials of cooperation with the Taliban. Not mentioning specific names, he alleged that some elements in the government were trying to equip the Taliban with weapons.
A number of lawmakers said that a mechanism should be devised to attract public support in war against the Taliban.
Saleh Muhammad Saljoqi, a lawmaker from Herat, commended bravery of Afghan forces in repelling attacks of the militants on Ghoryan district of the province.
“A large number of youth want to stand beside their security forces in fight against militants. However, the government lacks a special mechanism to mobilize people against the Taliban,” he said. Saljoqi added that Wolesi Jirga should come to the fore to devise a special mechanism for merging the youth with Afghan security forces.
The Deputy Speaker of the Wolesi Jirga, Nazir Ahmad Ahmadzai, who was chairing the plenary session, said that MPs should devise a mechanism for public support in war against the militants.
The MPs raised their concerns at a time that fighting is ongoing between security forces and the Taliban insurgents in Ghormach district of Faryab. The district recently fell to the Taliban recently.
