Youth consultative meeting on urban programs held in Kabul

By Akhtar M.Nikzad-KABUL: Ministry of Information and Culture on Tuesday held a consultation meeting with the youth representatives to take their viewpoints and demands for improvement of urban programs.

Kamal Sadat, deputy culture minister called the youth as the backbone of a society, adding that they should be supported by any means.

He said that culture ministry had particular plans for resolving the youth’s problems in different aspects.

He said that they had encouragement programs for the youth in the areas of education, sports, free treatment and transportation.

He pointed out that the ministry of information and culture in cooperation with the ministry of public health had established a consultation center to provide health consultations.

“In the near future, we would establish the high youth council for solidarity of youth to seek ways for resolving their problems through relevant organs,” he added.

On the other hand, a number of the youth who came in the consultation meeting said that one of the major problems of educated youth is joblessness.

Ismail Mashal, head of youth movement said that the youths comprise 75 percent of population in the country but have faced with a lot social problem and constrains.

He said nowadays youths are disappointed regarding to the government because of insecurity, joblessness and corruption.

“Government has not any particular program for youths the prefer immigration more than leaving in the insecure country,” he asserted.

Ahamd Omid another participant said that the ministry demanded the youth to provide their viewpoints about improvement of environment in the cities while they suffer from joblessness.

The government had earlier announced of making plans to establish jobs for peace program in the country through construction of development projects.
