Karzai stresses need for national dialogue with UN’s Otunbayeva

Kabul: Former Afghan President Hamid Karzai in a meeting with the UN Secretary General’s Special Representative to Afghanistan Roza Otunbayeva, discussed the current situation of country and stressed the need of opening schools and universities for girls and lifting the ban on women working in national and international organizations.

Hamid Karzai tweeted that in the meeting they also discussed the need for a national dialogue to ensure lasting peace in the country.

Meanwhile during the meeting both sides discussed and exchange of views about the upcoming Doha meeting and the expectations of Afghans from the international community.

Earlier, political figures outside and inside the country emphasized the need for national dialogue, and they said that it is the only solution for the current situation in the country.

National dialogue is one of four important parts of the Doha Agreement between the Taliban and the US.
