AT News KABUL: A number of Chinese companies have already begun negotiations with the Taliban authorities regarding possible development and infrastructure projects in Afghanistan, reports said. A group of Chinese investors have traveled to Wardak province to discuss investment to build manufactories factories. In a meeting with Maidan Wardak governor, they expressed their interest in build factories for production of kitchen utensils, wire nets, and children’s diapers in that province. Reports suggest that the Chinese firms are willing to invest $250,000 in manufacturing projects. Maidan Wardak governor, Qari Bakhtyar Mouaz, meeting the Chinese investors conceded Taliban government’s readiness to provide all necessary facilities for construction of manufacturing firms in provincial Industrial Township. The governor assured the foreign investors of security for their projects, saying their investments in Maidan Wardak will be secure and bear expected results. According to economists, attaining a modicum of self-sufficiency in production of goods will help Afghanistan’s economy in the long run, helping the country pull back from the brink of economic collapse.
