Karzai urges youth to support NUG

AT-KANDAHAR CITY: The ex-President Hamid Karzai urged youth to lend their support to the national unity government (NUG).

Talking to lecturers and students of Kandahar University, Hamid Karzai termed education as key to a brighter future of Afghanistan. “Non-violence resistance, national unity and education can lead Afghanistan towards a prosperous future,” he said.

Karzai encouraged youth to excel in education and said that more efforts were needed to boost education level. The ex-president termed development of education sector and strengthening national unity as the main achievements made during his tenure.

Hamid Karzai felicitated lecturers and students of Kandahar University for securing the first position among other universities of the country.

Hazrat Mir Totakhel, the chancellor of Kandahar University, said that the university was established around 25 years ago and now it has 12 departments and 558 lecturers.
