52 insurgents killed in raids

AT News Report-KABUL: At least 52 Taliban militants were killed and seven others were wounded in different operations launched by the security forces during the past 24 hours, security officials said Tuesday.

In a press release issued here, Ministry of Defense, (MoD) said that Afghan National Army (ANA) in collaboration with Afghan National Police (ANP) and National Directorate of Security (NDS) conducted joint operations against insurgents in different areas of Kapisa, Logar, Paktia, Kandahar, Ghazni, Uruzgan, Faryab, Farah, Herat, Kunduz and Helmand provinces..

The statement said that in these operations52 insurgents including two commanders were killed and seven others including one commander were injured.

Two rebels were also arrested and handed over to judiciary organs for further investigation.

This joined operation of the Defense Security Forces was supporting by the artillery and air forces, added statement.

ANA discovered and confiscated weapons and ammunition in the operations as well.
