60 insurgents killed in military raids
AT-KABUL: At least 60 militants were killed and 33 others wounded in multiple extensive military crackdowns within past 24 hours.
In a press release issued here, Ministry of Defense, (MoD) said that Afghan NationalArmy (ANA) in collaboration with Afghan NationalPolice (ANP) and National Directorate of Security (NDS) personal has conducted joint operations against insurgents in different area of Nangarhar, Laghman, Kapisa, Ghazni, Logar, Kandahar, Zabul, Badghis, Balkh, Faryab, Badakhshan and Helmand provinces.
Statement said that in these operations 60 insurgents were killed and 33others wounded.
Eight suspected insurgent were arrested by Afghan forces during operations and handed over to judicial organs for further inquiry.
Afghan National and Defense Security forces shelled and bombed the enemies’ positions and sanctuaries by artilleries and air forces.
During these operations in the past 24 hours,36 Taliban fighters were killed, 21 wounded and seven motorbike with some weapons destroyed in Andar district of Ghazni, nine insurgents including two Daesh affiliates were killed, three wounded and eight suspects were arrested in Khogiani and DehBala districts of Nangarhar, eight rebels were killed and two others wounded in Nawor and Trikh districts of Helmand province.
Similar, three militants were killed and two others wounded in Kaftar khana, Bozicha and Khanaqa area in center of Urzgan, four insurgents were killed and three others wounded in Badakhshan province.
In past 24 hours,14 planed clearing operations, and 66 Special Forces operations conducted in different provinces; also, Air forces conducted 130aerial operations supporting Afghan National army including17strikes on enemy’s sanctuaries.
ANA discovered and confiscated weapons and ammunition in the operations as well.
ANA as the nation’s defense forces are ready to give sacrifice to bring lasting peace and security to the people and are determined to eradicate terror groups in Afghanistan.
