67 insurgents killed in raids

AT News Report-KABUL: At least 67 militants were killed and 45 others were wounded in different crackdowns within past 24 hours.

In a press release issued here, Ministry of Defense, (MoD) said that Afghan National Army (ANA) in collaboration with Afghan National Police (ANP) and National Directorate of Security (NDS) personal has conducted joint operations against insurgents in different areas in Nangarhar, Kunar, Paktia, Paktika, Logar, Ghazni, Kandahar, Uruzgan, Herat, Ghor, Badghis, Balkh, Jawzjan, Faryab, Kunduz, Sar-e-Pul and Helmand Provinces.

Statement said that in these operations 67 insurgents including eight Daesh affiliates were killed and 45 others were injured.

Five suspects were arrested during operations and handed over to judicial organs for further inquiry, added statement.

During these operations in the past 24 hours, Afghan National and Defense Security forces shelled and bombed the enemies’ positions by artilleries and air force

During these operations, 25 Taliban terrorists were killed and 10 other were wounded in Nadali, Kajaki districts and Lashkargah center of Helmand, 17 insurgents killed and six other injured in center of Kunduz, seven rebels were killed and five others wounded in Andar and Dehyak district of Ghazni and eight Daesh fighters were killed and four others were injured in Kunar province.

Similarly, five Taliban fighter were killed  and seven others injured in Saiad district of Sar-e-Pul, three insurgents killed and four others wounded in Belcheragh district of Faryab, one Taliban fighter was killed and four other wounded in Aqcha district of Jawzjan and one insurgents killed and five others arrested in Khogyani district of Nangarhar.

In past 24 hours, 16 planed clearing operations, 13 Special Forces operations conducted in 13 provinces; also, Air forces conducted 64 aerial operations supporting Afghan National army including 17 strikes on enemy’s sanctuaries.

ANA discovered and confiscated weapons and ammunition in the operations as well.
