China vows to equip, support Afghan forces

AT Monitoring Desk-KABUL: Chinese Ambassador to Afghanistan Deng Xijun called on Hanif Atmar the National Security Advisor where they discussed different issues of mutual interest.

Ambassador Xijun said Beijing was ready to equip and support the Afghan National Security Force (ANSF).

He expressed condolences on behalf of his government and people over recent deadly bombings in Kabul, saying that China is ready to provide equipment and support to Afghan security forces.

The ambassador lauded the Afghan government for taking the peace process forward.

Xijun said his country is in favor of peace talks and wants all stakeholders to resolve their differences through negotiations.

Atmar thanked the Chinese government for continued economic, political and security assistance with Afghanistan.

He said China’s role is crucial for regional stability and progress.

He added that the Afghan government considers Beijing as a close friend, and that its assistance with Afghanistan would be of immense importance.
