Faryab’s Qarghan, Andkhoi districts cleared of Taliban rebels

KABUL: The Afghan security forces have cleared Qarghan and Andkhoi districts of northern Faryab province from presence of the Taliban insurgents during latest operations.

Afghan National Defense and Security Forces (ANDSF) conducted operations and cleared all villages of Andkhoy and Qarghan districts from Taliban presence, Ministry of Defense said in a statement on Monday.

Following clearance operation, Gen. Ahmadzai, commander of the 209th Shaheen Corps along with national defense and security forces have paid a visit to the cleared districts, the statement added.

Defense ministry says the Afghan security forces would continue operation to completely clear the districts from Taliban rebels.
