Five die in Kabul traffic accident

AT Monitoring Desk-KABUL: At least five people dies and two others received injuries in a traffic accident in the Shakardara district of Kabul province, an official said on Sunday.

An official of Kabul department of traffic police, who wished to go unnamed, told Pajhwok Afghan News that a truck was crashed with a Corolla model car in Qala-e-Murad Big area of the district today (Sunday) morning.

However, the source did not provide further information, but said that all the injured were shifted to hospital for treatment.

Road accidents are very common in Afghanistan. On Saturday evening, nine people were killed in a traffic accident in western Herat province, local officials said.

Herat hospital officials said that nine people were in the care when their vehicle crashed. “All of them died.”

Moreover, at least 4 people lost their lives in a collision between a car and a police vehicle in Kakas area of Laghman province.

Provincial governor’s spokesman Sarhadi Zwak said at least 4 people including a policeman were also among those wounded in the incident.

It is worth mentioning that majority of road accidents are due to bad condition of the roads. Reckless driving, lack of traffic signs are also behind deadly incident across the country.
