Karzai terms Mirza Olang massacre “inhumane”

AT-KABUL: Former President, Hamid Karzai “strongly” condemned the mass killing of civilians by the anti-government armed groups in the Mirza Olang village of Sar-e-Pul province, calling it an “inhumane” act and against all Islamic orders.

Over 50 civilians were reportedly shot dead and decapitated by Taliban and Daesh terrorist fighters in Mirza Olang of Sayyad district, after overrunning the village. The militants are said to have taken dozens of other civilians as hostages.

“Surely, there are hidden and mysterious hands of the aliens in our country are the main perpetrators of this tragedy,” Karzai said Tuesday in a statement, adding that the enemies of Afghanistan are introducing themselves by committing such crimes and gain people’s hatred more than before.

He hoped that those taken hostage, would be soon freed, wishing paradise for the martyrs.
