AT Monitoring Desk-KABUL: Khost residents said that the recent incident of bomb blast in the province strengthened their resolve to fight against corruption.
At least 22 people have been killed and more than 60 others wounded in a suicide attack on crowed of people protesting outside of the office of Khost governor.
Thousands of residents of the province gathered in the central mosque of Khost city to offer Fateha for victims of the tragic incident. They vowed to continue their protests to eliminate corruption in the province.
They said that such coward attacks could not weaken their resolve to fight against the infamous phenomenon of corruption.
They urged the incumbent government to arrest those involved in the attack.
Muhammad Karim Miakhel, head of a society in Khost, said that all markets in the city will remain shut for one day. He complained about widespread corruption in almost all government administrations in the province. “We have declared 3-day mourning in Khost over the deadly blast,” he added.
Abasin Rawan, a resident of eastern province, said that the incident strengthened unity among various tribes in the province to join hands in fight against corruption. He said that President Ashraf Ghani has turned his blind eye and deaf ear to their demands.
