“Mullah Omar’s death in a hospital in Karachi city of Pakistan is still in mystery,” Siddiqui
Abdul Zuhoor Qayomi-KABUL: The National Directorate of Security (NDS) confirmed that Taliban’s leader Mullah Omar died around two years and four months ago in a hospital in Karachi city of Pakistan.
Abdul Haseeb Siddiqui, spokesman for the NDS, said that Mullah Omar mysteriously died in a hospital in Karachi around two years and four months ago.
He said that Mullah Omar’s death is still a mystery. Siddiqui added that they have told media several times in the past that Mullah Omar is no more.
The Presidential Palace had previously said that they are looking into the reports that the Taliban leader Mullah Omar had died.
In the meantime, the former chief of spy agency of Afghanistan, Amrullah Saleh in a brief interview with Afghanistan Times said that Islamabad has told Kabul to announce death of Mullah Omar.
This comes at a time that the Taliban recently released a message of their leader, Mullah Omar, on the occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr, where he had lent his support to the direct peace talks between the government and the Taliban.
