AT Monitoring Desk-KABUL: At least thirty-two Taliban insurgents including their two key commanders were killed during a clearing operation carried out by the Afghan security forces in the southern Uruzgan province, an official said on Friday.
In addition to that, more than 31 other militants were received injures in the operation.
Police Chief Brig. Gen. Wali Jan Sarhadi said that Srashkhel and Wano localities had been cleared of rebels during the offensive. However, he said that one policeman was also killed during offensive.
Moreover, he said that security force were captured two tanks from the Taliban during a clash.
However, the Taliban insurgents have not commented into matter yet. But, Qari Yousuf Ahmadi, the group’s spokesman said that their fighters attacked security check posts in Chori district on Thursday night.
“Two policemen were killed during the attack and weapons and ammunitions were revered by the group,” he claimed.
