AT Monitoring Desk-KABUL: The National Security Council (NSC) stressed on regional and international cooperation in fight against ISIS.
Najib Manalai, the cultural advisor to the NSC, told Azadi Radio that ISIS has never been strong in Afghanistan, but its presence is a threat to the country. He stressed that the entire world should take part in fight against ISIS, also known as Daesh.
Some senior commanders of Daesh have been killed in Afghanistan over the past few months. The National Directorate of Security (NDS) said that killing of the ISIS commanders has weakened the terrorist group in Afghanistan.
The secretary of Meshrano Jirga, Najiba Husaini, believes that ISIS fighters of old Taliban groups who have switched their flag from white to black. “Unfortunately, some Taliban in Afghanistan switched their flag from white to black in order to prolong war in Afghanistan,” he added.
In the meantime, Shekiba Hashemi a member of the Wolesi Jirga said that the government has failed to curb militancy. Hinting at public uprisings, she said that people should lend their support to the Afghan government in fight against Daesh.
