Taliban key commander Nek Mohammad killed in Peshawar

KABUL: A key commander of Taliban has been shot dead by unknown gunmen in northwestern Pakistan, says an Afghan official. The killed Taliban was the group’s designated commander for eastern Nangarhar province.

The Nangarhar governor identified the insurgent commander as Nek Mohammad, who was shot dead in Peshawar, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa capital city on late Monday.

Provincial Governor, Zia-ul-Haq Amarkhel tweeted that Nek Mohammad’s two associates, including Azizullah (aka Mustafa), were wounded in the Haji Camp area of Peshawar.
