Tribal elder killed in Nangarhar bombing
AT-KABUL: A tribal elder was killed along with his three bodyguards in a truck bombing in eastern Nangahar province on Monday.
The bombing took place late in the evening around 6:30pm in Jalalabad-Turkham highway in Roadat district when a suicide bomber detonated his explosive laden mini-truck near to the vehicle of, tribal elder, Haji Hayat Khan.
Khan who was also nominated to the upcoming parliamentary election was killed along with his three relatives, who were working as his bodyguards in the attack in which a son of the tribal elder was also slightly injured.
Khan was a tribal elder and nominated to the parliament from Coat district.
“I am devastated with the horrible news of the terrorist attack against Haji Hayat Khan, I share the sorrow and grieve of his family and the Nangarhari citizens, I wish paradise for the martyred and extend my deepest condolences to his bereaved family” Nangarhar governor, Hayatullah Hayat said in a statement.
