AT Monitoring Desk-KABUL: The Afghan U-19 national football team defeated Maldives in their opening match in South Asia Football Federation (SAFF) U-19 Championship.
The national U-19 squad opened the goal of Maldives during 45th minute of the first half of the match with Masoud Habibi hitting the first goal.
The first half of the match ended in favor of Afghanistan despite additional time of six minutes was given by the referee of the match, but it ended 1-0 in Afghanistan’s favor.
The Afghan U-19s managed to hit the second goal during the 71st minute of the game with Ahmad Mansoori hitting the goal.
The third goal was hit by the Afghan U-19s during the 83rd minute of the match by Mohammad Ahmadi.
The Maldives Under-19 football managed to hit their first goal during the 84th minute of the match by Imran Khan.
The Afghan team will face India in their second match in the championship on Sunday which will be played at 2:15 pm Kabul time.
Afghanistan is in second group with India and Maldives. The championship is held in Nepal.
