AT-KABUL: At least 19 Taliban militants have been killed and another wounded a countrywide operations launched by Afghan forces over the past 24 hours.
The Ministry of Interior (MoI) In a press release issued on Tuesday said that Afghan National Police (ANP) in collaboration with Afghan National Army (ANA) and National Directorate of Security (NDS) operatives conducted military offensive against insurgents in different areas of Nangarhar, Takhar, Kunduz, Faryab, Sar-e-Pul, Jowzjan, Kandahar, Uruzgan, Maidan Wardak, Ghazni, Paktika, Farah and Helmand provinces. At least 19 rebels were killed and one other wounded in the operation, the statement added.
It further said that seven alleged Taliban insurgents were arrested and handed over to judicial organizations for further inquiries.
Afghan security forces also recovered weapons and ammunition during the operations.
