37 insurgents killed in raids

AT-KABUL: Thirty-seven Taliban and Daesh fighters were killed and 38 others wounded in different operations launched by the security forces in the past 24 hours, army said Sunday.

“The Afghan National Army (ANA) in collaboration with Afghan National Police (ANP) and National Directorate of Security (NDS) personal have conducted operations against the insurgents in different areas of Nangarhar, Herat, Baghlan, Kunduz, Sar-e-Pul and Helmand provinces,” the defense ministry said in a statement.

“In these operations, 37 rebels including 14 Daesh terrorists were killed and 38 others including 17 Daesh terrorists were injured.”

The ministry added that four Taliban commanders were also among the killed insurgents.

“Unfortunately, two army soldiers were martyred during the operations as the result of the enemy firing,” the statement said.

The army discovered and confiscated weapons and ammunition in the operations as well, mentioned the statement.
