AT-KABUL: Provincial government of Nangarhar on Friday claimed arrest of seven Taliban fighters.
Spokesman to the provincial governor, Ahmad Zia Abdulzai, said that Afghan security forces have nabbed six militants along a notorious Taliban commander in Ghanikhel district.
The spokesman identified the Taliban commander as Mirdad. Providing details about the arrest, he said that the security forces carried out a raid in Ghanikhel district of the province to arrest the commander and his fighters who were involved in insecurity. Abdulzai said that cache of weapons and ammunitions was also recovered.
It is said that during the interrogation, the militants confessed that they were involved in anti-state activities. Meanwhile, security forces had arrested another Taliban fighter in Jalalabad, the capital of Nangarhar province.
