Pakistan risks global isolation for supporting Taliban

AT News

KABUL: A Pakistani senator warns that his country would suffer international sanctions and isolation due to supporting Taliban who have waged deadly attacks in different parts of Afghanistan.

Senator Mustafa Nawaz, said Monday that Islamabad needs to bring changes in its foreign policy and cooperate with the Afghan peace negotiations instead of supporting and arming Taliban militants.

According to Nawaz, Pakistan is currently feared to be isolated by the United Nations and other international bodies, warning the isolation would be put in practice if the situation goes on as it is now.

He said Pakistan would get benefit from its honest cooperation with the Afghan peace process, but it would suffer a big loss in case it continues supporting of Taliban.
