Afghanistan facing surge in new COVID-19 infections; 547 cases, 10 deaths reported in one day

KABUL: Afghanistan is facing a surge in new cases of coronavirus with the country’s daily infections is on the rise. 547 new cases and 10 COVID-19-related deaths were reported on Sunday. According to the health ministry, the new fatalities were reported in the last 24 hours across the country.

The total tally since the outbreak of the epidemic has reached to 66,275 cases.

The new cases came positive out of 2,632 suspected samples.

Moreover, 146 patients have fully recovered from the virus during this period of time and discharged from the hospital.

The total recoveries have exceeded to 56,035 and the deaths to 2,812 nationwide since the outbreak of the pandemic started in the country over a year ago.
