KABUL – In a historic moment, the very first car produced in Afghanistan took center stage at the prestigious 2023 Geneva International Motor Show in Doha, Qatar. The event showcased the cutting-edge innovations and technological advancements in the automotive industry.
Mohammad Reza Ahmadi, the CEO of Entop Company, expressed his pride in successfully bringing Afghanistan’s automotive creation to the international stage in Qatar. He likened the achievement to a legendary bird with answers to all questions.
This exhibition saw the participation of leading global automobile giants, each unveiling their latest and most groundbreaking designs.
Notably, Mohammad Naeem, acting head of the Afghanistan Embassy in Qatar, graced the opening ceremony and toured the Afghanistan-made car display. The emergence of the automotive industry in Afghanistan has garnered attention as a positive development for the country’s economy, according to Shaker Yaqubi, a political analyst.
Economist Shabeer Basheri highlighted that this initiative has the potential to stimulate economic growth and employment opportunities in Afghanistan.
The significance of such production, as emphasized by economist Abdul Naseer Reshtia, lies not only in projecting a country’s identity on the global stage but also in its potential to boost employment prospects.
The 2023 Geneva International Motor Show, which commenced on Thursday, October 5, is slated to run for an impressive ten days.
