KABUL: A roadside bomb explosion killed two civilians in Shinkai district of Zabul province, local officials said Wednesday. The explosion that also wounded a civilian occurred in Ghond area of Shinkai.
Provincial Governor Spokesman, Gul Sial said that the wounded was evacuated to a health center in Qalat city, the provincial capital. He said the mine was planted by the Taliban but the militant group has not responded in regards thus far.
As violence is on the rise in Afghanistan, the civilians suffer heavy casualties in every day’s clashes. UN Assistant Mission in Afghanistan in a statement expressed its deepest concerns on surge in civilians’ casualties. The UNAMA said that a large number civilians’ casualties inflicted by the roadside bombs.
