AT Monitoring Desk-KABUL: Kapisa Police Chief said on Friday that military operation codenamed “Ghubar” is going in full swing against the Taliban insurgents in Tagab district.
Mohammad Raziq Yaqubi told TOLOnews that the military operation was launched three days ago and still continues in different areas of the volatile district.
The police chief said that three Taliban militants were killed and seven others wounded during the operation Ghubar. He said that 11 villages were cleared of the insurgents.
According to the police chief Raziq Yaqubi, a policeman was killed and two members of the public uprising movement sustained injuries when an explosive-packed jacket went off on Thursday.
There are also reports of civilian casualties. Residents claim that a mortar hit a home in Tagab district which left three civilians injured. However, security officials rejected the reports of civilian casualties.
