DABS teams struggle to restore power amid clashes in Baghlan

KABUL: Electricity remained cut off as the technical teams unable to fix the snapped power cable due to the ongoing severe clashes erupted in the northern province of Baghlan, Da Afghanistan Breshna Shirkat said on Sunday.

DABS on Saturday repaired the two pylons that had been blown up in Salan district of northern Parwan province.

However on Saturday lat evening, the power cable was snapped in Khinjan district of northern Baghlan province.

Last week, ten provinces including capital Kabul were devoid of power and remain in dark for more than 72 hours.

Mohammad Hashim Sangar Nizai, a spokesman for DABS said that the restoration of the two power pylons was completed on Friday evening, but electricity in Kabul and 10 other provinces could not be restored because of the conflict in Khanjan district.

Within one last month, more than 12 pylons of the imported electricity were damaged in northern provinces.

The Senate Committee of the Parliament on Sunday session called on the government to hold the perpetrators who destroy the power pylons.
