Daesh’a Activities Restrained in Afghanistan

KABUL: The acting Minister of Foreign Affairs, Amir Khan Muttaqi, downplayed the threat of Daesh group in Afghanistan, saying that the group’s activities have been restrained and that it has not been able to conduct an attack in the recent months in the country.

According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA), Muttaqi told the media in China that Afghan soil will not be threat to any other country.

“Daesh had no operations in the last four months. We could say that Afghanistan is a secure country right now and we are committed to the pledges we made to the world, the pledge that Afghanistan’s soil would not be used against any country,” he said.

He also termed his recent trip to China beneficial and with achievements.

Last month, a delegation of the Islamic Emirate, led by acting Minister Muttaqi flew to China to discuss range of issues with representatives of various countries at the sideline of the Third Foreign Minister Meeting of Afghanistan’s Neighboring Countries.

Muttaqi said the Islamic Emirate seek economic policy through it can facilitate investment inside the country.
