Explosion in Peshawar Injures Children and Adults

AT Kabul: A blast occurred in Pakistan’s northwestern city of Peshawar, injuring at least four children aged between seven and ten, along with three adults. The improvised explosive device (IED) contained four kilograms of explosives and detonated on a busy road around 9:10 am local time.

Officials reported that the target of the attack was a moving police vehicle, which had passed the location just moments before the explosion. Bilal Ahmad Faizi, the spokesperson for emergency rescue services, confirmed that four children sustained injuries, with two of them in critical condition.

Peshawar is often targeted by militant groups, including Islamic State and the Pakistani Taliban, due to its proximity to Taliban-ruled Afghanistan. The city has experienced previous attacks, including the assault on an army-run academy that resulted in the death of at least 153 people, primarily children.
