AT-KABUL: After killing and kidnapping of passengers on the Kabul-Kunduz highway, a number of civil society activists asked the government to improve security on the national highways and punish those who are involved in abduction and killing of innocent passengers.
They accused the government of negligence, saying that the security officials have failed to ensure tight security on the highways which resulted in “kidnapping and brutal killing of passengers” on the Kabul-Kunduz highway.
Zahra Naderi, a civil society activist, on Thursday told news reporters that people want to see all those behind bars who were involved in killing and kidnapping of passengers.
She said that silence of the government over ‘the heinous crime’ and brutality of the insurgents is an unforgivable act which questions credibility of the government.
“Unfortunately, the leaders are involved in internal rift which hampered the most important national services at the national level,” she said.
Abdullah Ahmadi, another activist, asked the Ulema Council to show reaction against the Taliban while condemning the brutalities of the insurgents group.
